POTS / ISDN Overview
Extel has been designing,
manufacturing and maintaining pair gain systems
for over a decade. All Extel digital pair gain systems
use the latest TC-PAM coding technology in order
to be compatible with broadband services deployed
in adjacent pairs and provide our customers with
optimum reach to their subscribers.
 V.90
The latest Extel digital pair gain development breaks
the 28.8 kbps barrier to comply with V.90 specifications.
The Extel V.90 solution means that the customers
56K modem will no longer train down to slower V.34
rate of 28.8 kbps when connected through our pair
gain systems. An important aspect of this development
is that the Exchange Unit is still connected to
the POTS line cards not the more expensive digital
ports at the switch.
