Next week at Supercomm 2003, Atlanta Georgia, Extel Communications will be launching the world’s first and only solution to address all three inhibitors to providing DSL everywhere:
· Granularity: In areas where there is low or uncertain demand for DSL, and so the business case for investing in a DSLAM is not profitable
· Reach: Where there are long loop lengths and the technical solution has been too expensive
· Broadband Blockers: Where the subscriber is connected through narrow-band pair-gain systems or loading coils, and solving this has been prohibitively expensive
Extel’s solution, called expandsl allows telecommunications carriers to re-write the business case for expanding into previously marginal geographic areas. This is made possible by a highly innovative architecture that marks a disruption to the DSL industry.
“Not only will Extel’s expandsl solve the biggest three headaches in providing broadband to everyone who wants it, but it is the first and only solution to do so at per-subscriber costs approaching those of large-scale DSLAM deployments.” said Michael Tomlinson, Vice President - Global Sales and Marketing.
“We’re very excited by the feedback we’re getting from large and small telcos in North America” said Mike Ross, Co-Founder and Vice President Sales, North America. “Our new Dallas office is proof of our commitment to the North American market”.
EXTEL Communications will be exhibiting working expandsl hardware all week at Supercomm booth number 22451, and is hosting an overview presentation of expandsl on Wednesday 4th June, 1:45pm to 2:10pm in the Supercomm Exploration Theatre.
