The eleventh Annual Monash Business Awards Gala Dinner and
Presentation Night was held on Friday July 29, 2005. During the evening, Monash Business Awards Chairman, Russell
Hannan, announced that Extel Communications had won the 2004-5 Export Award.
Commenting upon the achievement, Extel’s CEO, Ian Shiers,
said “We are very pleased that our past export successes and continuing efforts
to gain an increased global presence are being publicly recognised. This is an
award we are proud to receive.”
Monash Mayor Stephen Dimopoulos said the awards provided a
way to highlight the success stories of businesses located in the City of
Monash. "Monash is home to more
than 12,000 diverse businesses, including nearly 3,000 creative home-based
business ventures, and these awards provide a platform for businesses to
showcase their successes," he said. "They also help to ensure Monash
remains a centre of business excellence."
