ISDN Booster / Repeater

The Extel ISDN Booster / Repeater system was developed to enable telcos to deliver Basic Rate ISDN services to customers residing outside the normal operating range of ISDN. The ISDN Booster DOUBLES the range of Basic Rate ISDN and can TRIPLE the distance if two Repeaters are deployed.

The Repeater is power fed from the Booster card at the exchange and transmits a standard Basic Rate feed to the Network Terminal at the subscriber site.

The transmission distance from the Booster to the Repeater is 36 dB @ 40 kHz. The transmission distance from the Repeater to the NT1 or to the second Repeater is 36 dB @ 40 kHz.

The Booster card sits in any vacant slot of an Extel subrack and can accommodate up to six Basic Rate ISDN services.

The Repeater housing accommodates up to five individual repeaters.

The Repeater housing is hermetically sealed and can be installed underground if necessary.
